16 'intoxicated' people moved away from rough sea

IT WAS a busy weekend for Brighton Beach Patrol as it moved 16 “intoxicated” people away from the rough sea.

The team, which was set up to protect vulnerable people along the shoreline, also moved three people suffering from mental health issues away from the water’s edge.

The team posted an online message on Friday night which said: “Brighton Beach Patrol are getting prepared for a wet and windy patrol this evening.

“If you’re out tonight drinking and having fun please stay safe and keep away from the sea. Go out together, go home together. Don’t drink and drown.”
